Raising money for Scotiabank AIDS Walk For Life

I’ll be participating in the AIDS Walk For Life on September 18th. My goal is to raise around $500. For this, I will be selling a set of 3 Supernatural buttons: Sassy Gay!Moose, Priest!Dean, and Castiel. I currently have 84 sets, but if more people are interested I’ll be more than happy to order more.

I will be mailing these out to you with my own pocket money, so I ask that you donate at least $10 (I am not making any profit from this—also, I am fine with mailing internationally).

All you need to do is

  1. Go to my pledge page and donate $10 (or more, if you’re feeling generous).
  2. Go to my ask box with proof of donation (link to a screencap, or the name you used when donating along with the amount) and your mailing address
  3. If for whatever reason you do not want to leave your mailing address in my ask box, message me and I’ll give you my email.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. :)

Thanks,
Shirley

I am really mad at this… I think the people of tumblr could easily get this vote count up.

Remember Lara Logan, the CBS reporter who was separated from her crew while covering the revolution in Egypt and brutally raped by a mob of men? When she spoke publicly about her attack, she bravely broke a longstanding silence on the part of female reporters assaulted on the job.

… But Dan Rottenberg, editor of the online arts magazine Broad Street Review, doesn’t have any sympathy for Logan or outrage on her behalf. Instead, Rottenberg says Lara Logan is to blame for her gang rape because she once showed cleavage at a US award show…

Read more and sign the petition to get Rottenbergs article taken down!

  • Victim blaming in the media is all too common, and an article like this is undermining to woman, and completely wrong. Its just plain disgusting how somebody could write this sort of article blaming women for being raped: Earth to liberated women: When you display legs, thighs or cleavage, some liberated men will see it as a sign that you feel good about yourself and your sexuality. But most men will see it as a sign that you want to get laid.”

No.

  • What about women who dress conservatively who get raped? What about children, and men who are raped?

I doubt he would he write an article saying “Earth to alive people: if you walk around being alive, most people will assume that you are alive. But serial killers will take it as a sign that you want to be murdered.” Because that sounds ridiculous doesn’t it? Well so is this.
